Inaugurated in 2009, the Swashbuckler’s Ball is many things: Portland’s premiere pirate prom, a nautical choose-your-own-adventure, a charity ball, a night of music and merriment. Every year we round up musical artists and merchants and transform a space into the piratical prom you never got and won’t forget. The Swashbuckler’s Ball is a non-profit event, and we annually pick a charity to raise funds for via a raffle chock full of graciously donated loot. There are several themed bars to discover and explore, a gallery of merchants selling hand-crafted wares to add to your ship’s hold, and hours of live music to raise your tankard and stomp your boots to.
